After SHS graduation I attended MJC where I met my husband to be Roger Townsend. Roger got a job with IBM and we were married in July of 63. We moved to Tampa and bought a house on the water. We had two sons Roger lll and Richard.

Being on the water we had to have a boat. Roger enjoyed water skiing (and I must say was pretty great) so the whole family became involved. In 73 we moved to St. Petersburg also on the water. I went to St. Petersburg JC and took the Human Service course and got an AA degree. I started volunteering at the St. Petersburg Free Clinic and I have now been there over 30 years. Roger and I also enjoyed shooting Trap and Skeet and I was fortunate to win a tournament in Sarasota and used the prize money to buy a dining room table. We joined the SPYC and I became a Salty Sister sailing prams, Rhodes and 420's. We owned a few Hobie Cats over the years and sailed on Boca Ciega Bay.

I have two Grandchildren by my son Roger, Jobe and Marina. Roger lives nearby in Gulfport. My son Richard and wife Jeanne live across the street from me and have a son David, who will turn two in June. He is such a joy.

Roger and I owned a 52' Hatteras and took a few trips to the Bahamas and enjoyed many anchor outs off Moore's on Longboat Key. Five years ago Roger was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer that went into his bones and he passed away on January 4, 2011 after 47 years of marriage.

I am having to learn to cope on my own, thank heavens I have my sons to help. I am back to my normal activities now, helping with my Grandson, shooting, Salties, leading a scripture class and walking.

I've enjoyed reading the Bio's and looking up the pictures in my yearbooks. I debated not coming to the 50th Reunion, it's difficult seeing how we all have aged but there is only one 50th so I decided to sign up. Looking forward to meeting new friends.
